Jason began to wonder about Chilali. What if she became pregnant with his child and they were stuck here? it wouldn't be good at all, so he needed to help the both of them escape.

(Wait until the DNA is put in him and he isn't going to be shape shifter. The DNA will just start to con troll part of him mind, change his appearance and he'll get fangs, claws, a tail(Optional) the eyes like that animal and ears like that animal too)
