~*~The Shifting War - RP (Role Play)~*~

" Sounds delicious" she smiled a little. ok he's left pull yourself together She took several deep breaths and stood up slowly. At first she had been terrified but not anymore, he seemed like a decent guy. Overall now she felt embarrassed. I've cried in front of a total stranger, now I'm eating his food.. ahhh, I can never do anything right. She closer to where he was . "So would you mind telling me a bit about yourself? I mean I know your name is Chase and you are very tolerate of strangers , but I'm in the dark . Of course don't have to tell me anything, " The soup smelled amazing , she didn't realize how hungry she was. "Can I help you with anything?" She felt like an invalid not doing anything.

(No haven't lol)

Chase chuckled, "I'm not usually that tolerant of strangers, most of the time my first response to someone on my property is to get the rifle and run them off before they raid my garden for radishes," He replied, trying to lighten the mood, though what he said was true, he didn't put up with trespassers. "Here, think you could open the oven for me?" Chase asked, motioning to the largest of the three ovens before putting the lid on the skillet and picking it up, flashing her a slight smile as he did. He wasn't used to having anyone around, in his home, helping him, talking to him, nothing, but to his surprise, he found that he was enjoying her company. Whoa there, it's a bit early for that, she's only here because she wondered here and fainted, she probably won't hang around. Chase thought without much emotion on the subject, though he was a bit disappointed.

((You should! :p ))

Jesse opened the door and stepped aside. She laughed quietly at his statement. "I've never seen a man do the cooking. " She smiled. She pulled her hair up in messy bun. Wow he's so different from any guy I've known..he's so nice and polite. A true gentleman. Or at least it seems that ways. Can't let down my guard... She watched him as he worked.

((Here you go :p :

Tada! No problem, LTC ^-^))

((Ah! Now I understand, thank you, you marvelous person you! :D))

Skye blinked, her tail twitching again while she listened without interruption. It was allot to take in, all the information about the shifting groups- especially seeing as she had only just found out she wasn't the only one in the area a minute ago. It wouldn't be lying to say she felt a bit overwhelmed at that moment, though it didn't show through the way she was standing there, head tilted with a contemplative look in her eyes. "So what exactly do you do, being the 'True' group and all?" Skye asked after a long pause. Then sending a brief glance to the bushes, almost as if expecting someone to pop up at any second, "Are there Hunters, or whatever you called them, around here?"

((I don't like the sound of that laugh... -.-))

Jayden fidgeted slightly, being a True, he didn't really do anything, he had no idea where to find other True because his Gran wouldn't tell him, and that embarrassed him. But before he could answer, she asked another question, which he could answer with confidence, "Yes, there are Hunters around here, but I've never run into any." He answered quickly, the reluctantly continued, "And I, well, don't really do anything as a True. My Gran is involved, like really involved, and she's like, ancient. But she, ah, she doesn't involve me..." Jay looked away quickly, this was not the way he wanted to present himself, his life, but it was the truth, he did nothing, almost as if he didn't know about the war, almost as if he didn't care. But he did, and that was what bothered him so much...

((How's this one: WEEHEHEHA!!! Better? ;) ))

"Real men cook, everyone knows that." Chase joked, closing the oven then leaning back against the counter, "You wanted to know about me. Well, I was born in the heart of New York, City, but I've never liked cities, they're just too crowded and noisy. So I moved out here to Sunnydale, Vermont when I was 19 and bought this chunk of land. There was nothing here then, so at first a I lived in a makeshift hut while I built this cabin, the out buildings, coop and garden." He glanced out the window, the utility barn and garden easily visible, "It's taken me six years to get this place workable, and I just got solar power which helps a lot, this place is off grid."

" it's really nice you should be proud!" She smiled. " I dint like the city either .I really don't like people, " she laughed. "So I'm guessing you live her alone?" She bit her lip ,not wanting to sound awkward. Her face lightly flushed. [please don't ask about my past... /I]

Chase smirked slightly at her question, seeing her bite her lip, her face flush, she was obviously somewhat uncomfortable with it, "You'd be right, unless you count a friendly family of chipmunks on the roof, they can be good company at times." He replied with a straight face as if he were serious, the chipmunks, though cute and surprisingly snugly, were little nuisances, with their habits of munching on the cabin, storing seeds in nooks and finding their way inside on occasion, they caused a lot of problems.

She smiled, " yes I'm sure they make excellent companions" She was feeling much better now, pretty much back to her old self. " I had a pet squirrel named Sid once, he really was my best friend. Kinda sad when that's the only friend you have. He died when I was twelve. Long time ago.. " She sighed and started fidgeting with her hands, a nervous habit of hers, along with playing with her hair.

It was easy to tell that there was a lot of lingering pain in Jesse's past, she had said herself that she was running from it, and though Chase knew that he couldn't help or console her, he wanted to help in some way, though he didn't know exactly why, being that he really wasn't a people person. "Better to have an animal friend than no friends at all, what's sad is that they don't live longer." He paused, a companionate sort of half smile on his face, he understand what it felt like to be alone, though he always told himself that he was a loner, no one truly is. "Maybe I'll have to get you one of those chipmunks, there's at least ten of them, and I'm sure they'd appreciate the attention." Chase said as he turned and pulled two bowls, spoons and a ladle from the cabinet, then moved to the stove and started serving them each a hardy portion of the steaming soup.

Jesse took her bowl." Thank you, and a chipmunk, well that would make things interesting." She tasted the hot soup .it was really good.
"You're a good cook Chase." She smiled hoping he didn't think it was weird that she used his first name.

"Thanks Jesse, it's not often that I have company here, and on the off chance people come out, they're just other Hunters and never stay to eat." Chase replied, which led him into asking, "If you don't mind me asking, how'd you become a hunter?" Simply put, there were really only a few ways to become a Hunter: you could be raised in a family of them, where from a young age you were taught about the war and trained to be a Hunter; you could stumble upon the the information, accidentally or purposefully; or you could have a run-in with a shifter, and either be found and recruited by Hunters or find them yourself.
