the silky feather gene

hi i have a question about the silky feathers. is it dominant or recessive? if i breed a silky feathered bird with a nonsilky feathered bird what are the odds of getting more silky feather birds? thanks all for the info
i have a silky duck and would like more but i only have the 1 duck so was thinking about getting him/her a friend. its just a duckling of 2 days so not sure what it is yet.

You have to get a copy of the silkie gene from each parent. so you can breed your duck to a regular duck then breed back to the offspring and you should have some silkies in that generation.
