The Silver Laced Wyandotte Thread

Abby,
Sarge and his girls look great, they could not have got a better home. I can't wait to see their offspring in your breeding plan. Dracoe19 is the way to go if your are looking for QUALITY SLW's!

I hatched 6 SLW. 3 ended up having single combs....very disappointed. So I kept the other 3 hoping that one might be a female. I think two are males and the only one that is female is a runt. Also, I noticed that another of these chicks has a rose comb with one spike of a single comb on top. Very strange. I may have to give up on getting a good SLW. I only wanted one good female! I don't want to hatch anymore because I think I am getting good quality eggs, and nope, I don't! But, you guys are posting some absolutely beautiful birds! I did luck out on hatching a fabulous BLRW roo. He is about 10 weeks old now and still has a lot of baby fuzz.....the slowest feathering chick I have ever seen, but great colors and body!

Here is Oppenheimer and a few of his ladies. I will be hatching and showing them this season . So far they have done quite well in the show ring :).

I only see one major fault... they aren't mine

Any bantam breeders on here?

^^^Yes Dracoe has some beautiful SLWs

Here is a link to our SLW roo, and his first attempts at crowing. This is the 2nd morning I've heard it. Just hoping he only does it about 8x each morning, then shuts up.

^^^a crow-off. Great. We have 2 roosters, and only one tries to crow so far. If we had acres, and they did their crow-off contest, that would be funny. In the city, no so funny!

Here is my baby Silver Laced Wyandotte, she is 24 weeks old and is currently getting picked on by a 13 weeks old Light Sussex because she is so gentle. She is so funny, this morning a crow flew above us and she couldn't find any immediate shelter in the yard so she ran under my legs lol.
