The Silver Laced Wyandotte Thread

I'm still having a hard time picturing the size. Does anyone have a picture of a Bantam Wyandotte next to a LF Wyandotte???
Okay, good break from washing birds today :) Taking pictures is way more fun!
Here is the egg size.

Both ladies are a little over a year old. Both laid the eggs above.

And neither was even an ounce happy to be in the others presence!

I must add , that although she is much smaller than the LF her eggs are easily 3/4 the size of her larger counterpart .
Wow, she is a pretty gal :) Glad to hear there are other monster egg bantam layers out there. Kind of giggle everytime I collect their eggs. Makes me feel like they need more treats. haha Geez they just laid their body weight in an egg. haha Great conversion!

Thank you Scott. I had 2 of these lovely girls but an owl took one.

I'm going to put here in with the a " Wilkie " and my 2 x columbian boys. I think they will make beautiful babies.

They don't look thrilled to be there LOL. And how and why are you washing birds?
No, they were a little t'd. Kept making the SL play nice...

Going to a ABA/APA double show here locally on the 2nd. Stupid me entered 21 or was it 24 birds....Thank goodness, some of those are somewhat already clean from the last show. How in the utility sink. Not different than washing your dog... Wings go a flapping for about 2 seconds, once the water hits them they just sit there and go hurry up. Big chicky eyes looking at you.

LOL.....and then hit them with the hairdryer? You must be a busy girl!
Yep, beauty queens all the way...Actually, they get the dryer treatment to get the excess water off so they don't chill to much. They look all cute when you wrap them up in a towel and that is peaking out is there wet head. Try it. LOL

Sorry to hear that....during the day?

Probably just at dusk, not really sure, but it's a big owl. I was walking up the drive one night, at dusk( which in the summer months is 10 pm here ) and it flew across in front of me. He has just started hoot hooting all night, so I now he's out there. She would have put up a good fight. A couple of nights ago my daughter and I went out with our torches, home made mite balm and lice powder. We treated everyone. When we got to that little lady , she carried on " like a two bob watch." And strong, she'd have to be to lay eggs that size.
