The Silver Laced Wyandotte Thread

So on day 9 for my little silver lace wyandotte hen and have candled all of the eggs yay candled for the first time and for what I can see all are alive all were moving inside of the eggs and lot of veins so excited she is going to be such a good mum. But I am hoping for another broody to hurry up because I have 8 orpington eggs and 4 plymouth eggs that I need to hatch so fingers cross but maggie my older sussex silkie mix is showing signs as she was in the nest box all day yesterday and same for the day before so fingers crossed I guess

I noticed my SLW ear lobe looks different today:

It was red this Tuesday. She is about 25 weeks and not laying yet. Does her ear lobe look normal?

Thanks. Am a worried mom.

Sadly my Slw cockerel Omelette was found headless a few days ago, I'm suspecting it was a possum since I found a possum attacking my dog today, so glad I did away with it. I had to order a new cockerel from Mr.Foley. R.I.P omelette

If it was during the daytime I would suspect a hawk. They only eat the heads (brains) and leave the rest. If evening then you might be right about the opossum. Or a raccoon. Last fall I had hawks attacking by day and raccoons by night. Lost 7 total chickens and we locked them up for rest of winter.
