The Silver Laced Wyandotte Thread

Is there any hope that my 8week old slw is a pullet? I bought the chick sexed as a pullet but I'm thinking there was an oops. Opinions appreciated.

looks super friendly! Do you have any others to compare to?

none to compare to. She got very red on her comb at two weeks while the rest of the mixed babies are still light at 8 weeks. The red is darker in person.

Chances are quite good that she's a pullet. The combs and wattles are common for eight weeks pullets. Here's a picture of my almost 6 weeks old

and as you can see the comb and wattels way more pronounced.

Such a relief that there's a good shot. I posted pictures of her younger on here in their own header and most everybody said Cockerel.

Very good shot. Here's another closer up picture of my Cockrel at five weeks old, just to make my point.

My wonderful SLW pair! I love them, I know they aren't "breed standard" but they are perfect to me. My roo took a nap in my lap for about thirty mins !

Happy to have found this thread as I found the Silver Laced Wyandottes and immediately fell in love with them. I plan to order two dozen sexed chicks in a few weeks and can't wait to share pics when I get them. Mine will not be show birds or anything, just hatchery stock but I will love them nonetheless!
