I have had my current flock for the last 2-3 years. I have added a few and only have 1 original left. The last addition was 2 chicks that I raised this spring. I slowly introduced them to the flock following all suggestions and everything seemed great except the 2 chicks would sleep on top of the coop together. Several recently molted and since then one of the chicks is being bullied by the entire flock but 2 are more aggressive toward her. Apparently she had been chased off the feed so much that she had a deficiency and could hardly walk. I separated her for almost 3 weeks in a large dog kennel in my garage and nursed her back to health. She is still a little wobbly but much better. I snuck her into the coop last night after everyone went to bed with hopes the others wouldn't remember the bullying. I was wrong. They are still bullying her and chasing her off the food and water. What else can I do?! I don't want to remember her because she is one of my blue Cuckoo marans and she and I have obviously bonded while she was recovering. She runs to me to protect her from the flock now. 💔 They free range my backyard almost every day for several hours after I get home from work and the other pick on her then, too.

Do you have multiple feeders and waterers? It could make it more difficult for other chickens to chase her away from them. The separation from the flock doesn't really help in cases of bullying, unfortunately. Sorry I don't have more advice, hopefully your situation turns out alright.

Thank you. I added another feeder today after reading a bit about that online. I will add another waterer on Monday. The waterer I currently have is probably 10 gallons, but I know they will bully her away from it, too. I watched her cautiously go into the coop tonight after everyone else was settled, and she was allowed to stay without a fuss. However, the main bully (her chick mate!) is sleeping on top of the coop again so she didn't chase her out. I also read online to separate the bully for a few days to establish a new pecking order, so I might give that a try tomorrow. I only seperarated her first because the other nearly starved her to death. Poor baby 💔
