"I... I just wanted to say sorry. I swear, I didn't mean to be bossy. I've just experienced what the programmer can do, and..." you're rambling again, Elsie she thought, "Well, he's found me again. And staying means putting you all in trouble, and, although I do hope he destroys Lottie- I'm joking, I'm joking- that's not something I want," she whispered, studying the intricate tiles on the floor.
Lottie’s head went up “standing right here” she reminded her

Alina followed at a slower pace, her thoughts in the upstairs bedroom where her father had disappeared into.

Chris, meanwhile, was knocking on Alina's bedroom door. Calder opened it. "I'm sorry," he muttered, "I shouldn't even be in here."
"Oh, Alina won't mind," Chris said, willfully misunderstanding so that Calder would tell him what he was thinking.
"That's—not what I meant." Calder said, turning away and heading over to the window
"Anyhow," Chris continued, breezily, "Alina asked me to give you her apologies. She's concerned about Tara and—well, couldn't come up herself."
"Couldn't?" Calder raised an eyebrow and looked over his shoulder at Chris. "Or wouldn't?"

Chris sighed. "She couldn't." he reiterated, and then walked up to Calder and put an arm around him. "I get how you're feeling, son. Alina is concerned that you're thinking Tara's taking Michaela's place. That's not right at all."
"Oh? In her room—staying here—you treating her like another daughter?" Calder snapped. Chris's arm tightened around him.
"Please don't feel this way," he said, "I welcome Tara, because Alina's right. This place had been too quiet. And she's had heartache too. It's not wrong to help her, and of course she'll never take Michaela's place. You miss her. We all do. And you're one of us,"

He turned and left Calder to his own thoughts, alone in Alina's room.
(Ooooh he not happy at all with Tara lol)
