Lottie’s head went up “standing right here” she reminded her"I... I just wanted to say sorry. I swear, I didn't mean to be bossy. I've just experienced what the programmer can do, and..." you're rambling again, Elsie she thought, "Well, he's found me again. And staying means putting you all in trouble, and, although I do hope he destroys Lottie- I'm joking, I'm joking- that's not something I want," she whispered, studying the intricate tiles on the floor.
Matt looked up from his watch and smiled as the smell of good food wafted into the room.Lottie’s head went up “standing right here” she reminded her
(Ooooh he not happy at all with Tara lol)Alina followed at a slower pace, her thoughts in the upstairs bedroom where her father had disappeared into.
Chris, meanwhile, was knocking on Alina's bedroom door. Calder opened it. "I'm sorry," he muttered, "I shouldn't even be in here."
"Oh, Alina won't mind," Chris said, willfully misunderstanding so that Calder would tell him what he was thinking.
"That's—not what I meant." Calder said, turning away and heading over to the window
"Anyhow," Chris continued, breezily, "Alina asked me to give you her apologies. She's concerned about Tara and—well, couldn't come up herself."
"Couldn't?" Calder raised an eyebrow and looked over his shoulder at Chris. "Or wouldn't?"
Chris sighed. "She couldn't." he reiterated, and then walked up to Calder and put an arm around him. "I get how you're feeling, son. Alina is concerned that you're thinking Tara's taking Michaela's place. That's not right at all."
"Oh? In her room—staying here—you treating her like another daughter?" Calder snapped. Chris's arm tightened around him.
"Please don't feel this way," he said, "I welcome Tara, because Alina's right. This place had been too quiet. And she's had heartache too. It's not wrong to help her, and of course she'll never take Michaela's place. You miss her. We all do. And you're one of us,"
He turned and left Calder to his own thoughts, alone in Alina's room.
“Are you okay?” She looked at him, normally he would have given her at least half a smile but he was being strangely quiet"What is it Millie?" Mark asked, still thinking about how Elsie had criticized him.
"Yes. Next hiding place," Mark told her, intentionally irritating her when he didn't elaborate.
Matt looked around, " I hope there's enough food, if not I'll get something on my way home," he told lottie.Matt looked up from his watch and smiled as the smell of good food wafted into the room.
“There should be.” Lottie replied she was still annoyed at Elsie, she didn’t think she would ever forgive her either, it’d take a lot of butt kissing and apologies for Lottie to forgive Elsie.Matt looked around, " I hope there's enough food, if not I'll get something on my way home," he told lottie.
" I hope. hey speaking of food, what's your favorite restaurant?!"“There should be.” Lottie replied she was still annoyed at Elsie, she didn’t think she would ever forgive her either, it’d take a lot of time and apologies for Lottie to forgive Elsie.
“I don’t really know, I rarely go out to eat” Lottie admitted" I hope. hey speaking of food, what's your favorite restaurant?!"
