Calder had no reply, but put a comforting hand on her shoulder.

Alina had finished translating the section of the manuscript that had interested her, and stood up in excitement. "Guys!" she exclaimed, "You have to see this!"

She had underlined two words, tempus and momentaris. "It says that through trauma, you can get similar symptoms to yours, Tara, but they're temporary!"

Calder smiled slyly, "As a matter of fact, I was contemplating inviting myself over anyway."

Calder winked at her, and Alina caught the wink. The expression on her face did not change, but her blue eyes widened very slightly. There was a faint indication of surprise in their depths as she glanced from Calder to Tara.

She then looked up at Calder. "So that's how it is?"
Her voice was controlled and Calder could have searched for millenia without knowing whether she was pleased or the opposite.

He nodded.

Her face broke into a smile. She hugged him. "Michaela would be so proud of you," she said warmly, "Go find her. I embarrassed her. Tell her I send my apologies."
Calder nodded and left at a quick pace.

Tara sat on her bed hugging her knees to her chest, she had screwed up, big time. Alina was probably furious, she couldn’t blame her for that
