Quote: Jenna closed her car door more forcefully than she would normally, and locked her car door. She walked swiftly up to the door, her shoes making crunching sounds on the gravel road. She jammed her key into the front door, then swung it open. She would never admit it, but she was genuinely concerned about James. "JAMES! Are you here?" She asked. Her only response was the mechanical noises of one of his many video games. She rolled her eyes and walked into the house, closing the door behind her. She walked into his room. She stood in his doorway a moment, observing. His room looked like a tornado ran through it. Clothes, potato chip bags, and video game controllers lay strewn across the floor. James himself sat in front of a computer, the blue light making his face turn unnatural colors. James had brown eyes, and nondescript brown hair. She watched as he got blown up violently by a strange, green creature. He groaned and planted his face into the computer keyboard. She smiled slightly. "Hey, James." She said. She moved aside some stuff on his bed, making a face at a half-eaten pizza, and sat down. "Oh, hi Jenna. Was work okay?" He asked, not looking up. Jenna took a deep breath. "James. We need to talk." She said. Something in the serious tone of voice she used made him swivel around in his chair to face her. "Did you get fired?" He asked, seeming not disappointed or worried, just curious. "No. No, but there was... an accident of sorts." She said. how am I supposed to tell him that there are weird scientific freaks running loose? she wondered.
"Well..." Jenna said. She put her face in her hands. "The... experiments escaped." She started. James raised his eyebrows. "Cooooool." Jenna gave him a cross look. "No, it's not! Half human, half animal freaks running unchecked in the wilderness? This could be disastrous! And don't even get me STARTED on Mr. if-looks-could-kill..." She said, referring to Vondrr. James cocked his head. "...Who's Mr... whatever you said?" He asked. Jenna sighed, and let her hands fall to her lap. "Some... guy we were studying." She said. James nodded, appearing genuinely interested for once. Jenna smiled at him weakly. "Well, we found him a while ago, just wandering about. He's... really tall... like maybe 10 feet or something. And he has these glowing, slitted eyes... Like a cats or something, but purple." She said. James sat up suddenly, his jaw dropping. "Was he mad?" He asked. Jenna was surprised at the question. "...yeah..."
"DID YOU LOOK AT HIM?" James cried out, on the edge of his chair. Jenna paused to give him a strange look, then shake her head. weirdo. "Yeah... so?" She responded, a little wary. James stood up suddenly, grabbed his backpack off of his bed frame, and opened his closet door. Stuff poured out. Jenna watched, curious. He stuffed his backpack with an extra pare of clothes, his ITunes, a foam, pixelated sword, and a flashlight. He stuffed a box of crackers in last, then pulled a plastic jack-o-lantern out from under some stuff. He plonked it on his head. His eyes showed through the eye holes in the pumpkin face, making him look... well, ridiculous. He slung the backpack over his shoulder, and started for the door. Jenna stood. "JAMES! Just where do you think you're going??" she said, sidestepping in front of his doorway. He pushed past. "I have to go stop him... what have you done..." He muttered.
He dashed out of the front door, leaving it wide open. Jenna face-palmed. "What am I going to do..."
Danika ducked behind a tree, watching as a boy came out of the cabins front door. She watched the cabin a moment longer, then followed the boy, curiously."Well..." Jenna said. Danika's ears perked as he spoke. She listened to him, trying to stay out of sight and wondering what he was talking about.James ran down the street, thoughts whirling around in his head. What was Jenna thinking?? You don't just LOOK at something so other-worldly that doesn't look friendly...
he stopped just out of sight of his house to think for a moment. Just running about crazily wasn't any way to find Jenna's new enemy. He would have to figure out a way to find him faster...
"Hmm. Where would I go if I was in his situation, and I was in a different world, and I had been abducted by scientists, who's bodies were made over 70% of deadly poison, and I didn't know what they wanted with me, or even what they were saying..." He trailed off. "Woah."
