James had been walking down the street, oblivious of the splices following him until the lab was in sight. He had been walking for a while, and sat down on the curb for a moment, to catch his breath, when he saw them. He noticed Varissa first, her red hair standing out against the drab road. He hugged himself, the cold weather making him shiver a little. He looked ridiculous, with the plastic pumpkin on his head. He turned to face them. "H... Hello." He said. He noticed, somewhere in the back of his head, that the wolf girls were kind of cute.

Danika looked to Varrissa then back to James "Uh, hi" She said softly, then moved out of the trees and sat on the ground. "Who are you? How do you know about the tall guy? And why do you have a pumpkin on your head?" She asked, letting her curiosity take over for a moment

"um." James said. "I'm James. I... I know about the 'tall guy'... because I think I know which dimension he's from." He paused, to recognize just how weird this conversation was. "And the pumpkin is a fashion statement." He said, chuckling slightly, trying to break the ice.
"Well, actually, it's kind of protection. From his eyes. They're... yeah." He said, awkwardly.
