The lights went out and doors locked down, a stalling tactic for the guards. At the same time a fire alarm was tripped in another part of the lab, as far from the kids as Sonya could make it.Then another alarm tripped in the plant nursery that created fresh air and some of the food they used.


(Yeah, not like a normal building the elevator will still work.)

Charles looked up as the alarms started to sound. He left Sonya in the elevator he knew the kids would use and went to find Matthew to set off another part of his main plan.

Wintent squeezed into the vent her wings scraping the sides. She bit her lip to keep from hissing in pain, she pulled her wings closer to her but it didnt help much.
 
Gwen watched first Wintent, then Jess and Vale go into the vent. "Your next Eva" She said, wanting to go last.
 
Gwen lay her wings as close to her back as she could get them and crawled into the vent, wincing as they touched the sides.'Giant eagle wings are not good for crawling through vents' she thought to herself
