Siena watched the bounding ritual. She had always been told about it. But never had the opportunity to actually see it in progress. It was beautiful.

Amara finished it with a nip on the top of his muzzle, meaning she dominated over him

Axel accepted his place below the female, him having a place meant he was allowed to explore the territory as he wanted as long as he didn't cross the line, which was...

1) Mating with females that stray away from the pack
2) Automatically taking place within the pack without acceptance
3) Taking the territory as his own without permission of the alpha/alpha's
4) Stealing food from the pack, without permission to join in on the feasting
And 5) Not following the rules

If any of the rules were broken he could be chased from the territory, it is a privilege to be a ble to live within a packs territory, especially as a loner, he could possibly be killed for breaking certain rules

See that Amara had induced him pack status, she let down her guard. She chanced a drink of water now. She was so thirsty. But as she drank she watched the other two wild dogs carefully. They could still be a threat.

The mother watched the acceptance, then, she knew her and her son Axel had grown apart and it was his turn, to get the taste of a solitary life. The mother and Axel' s brother trotted away, ignoring the strange wild dogs and the mother's own son. It was life, of the wild dogs

Siena watched them leave. She could never be a longer. She loved her pack too much. Life alone was a hard life. What if you become I'll and couldn't hunt, the pack would help feed you. She just didn't understand loners.

How could they leave him? Although Axel was older than herself and could care for himself, it didn't mean just leave.

Axel watched as his family left, he would follow but would be chased off. He would have been chased off 2 years ago but his mother was too attached. Perhaps she was looking forward to having another litter of pups, and she can't do that with her older pups still around.

Siena quietly watched the emotional battle cross Axel's expression. She wondered which path he would choose, the one he always knew or the one that had the best future.

Axel sighed. If he were to go with his mother, she would probably chase him off anyway, or were he to stay with the two females and the pack, possibly start a family if the alpha allows it. He shook his head, it was time he grew up and left his mother, he was to stay solitary, unless the tables turn.

Siena looked back to Amara to see her take on the situation. She seemed to be waiting for something. So she stayed silently by her side.

Amara looked around, then up at Axel. "You may stay within the territory as long as you like." She smiled at him then went to walk past him, to continue searching for a mate. She couldn't have Axel as a mate, he lived with his mother too long and hadn't any experience by himself, she had to wait.

Axel watched as she passed, he sighed. Well at least I know where to start
