Amara greeted Ronan and Narfary with a short bark, her tail wagged and was happy to see them. But her mind afar, she couldn't concentrate and was having a hard time. She had thought she was herself again and didn't have much worry for she had the pack by her side. But ever since she returned she felt the urge to run, to be free again, not that it was a burden to her to be home again. But she felt she had to leave, she didn't feel the same. Her heart wanted to stay but her head wanted to leave, she felt she didn't belong. Being a loner had changed her greatly, she was always looking for danger and keeping her distance from others, her species was supposed to be social and want to stay. But... She couldn't decide, she had a longing to be a loner again, as if life were better alone but... She felt if she left the pack she would again be lonely. Amara stared blankly out toward the horizon, keeping her idea on leaving. She couldn't just up and leave the pack like she did before but instinct was telling her to, to leave no questions asked. Why? She had fought the urge to listen to her instinct since she returned, but slowly over time, she got just that much closer to leaving. Why must she leave? Why didn't she want to stay, where she belonged? She didn't feel like she fit in anymore, she was raised by hyenas she had remembered and felt she was no longer the African Wild Dog she once was, now she was what she grew up as... a hyena. The change had happened so fast, faster than the speed of light her mind had quickly decided it was time to return to her own kind... but she was a wild dog not a hyena. But, she had to go back, go back to the life she knew best. When she became an adult wild dog she told herself she was a wild dog, but when she was growing up she told herself she was a hyena. It was as if she were reborn, not the hyena she grew up to be but a wild dog. But now, she must become her old self again, instinct had told her to turn back ever since she left her hyena family but this time it was stronger than ever and she couldn't fight it. She had to leave, but she had to sneak away. She didn't want to suffer from the expressions on the other dog's faces when she went to leave. Tonight, she would leave to return home, her real home. The home she had known and loved since she was just a week old, she knew the hyenas territory better than her own homeland. She must return to the familiarity of the hyenas territory, she felt as if she weren't safe. She was insecure, she felt she had to leave and tonight would be the time to return home.
