So sadly about 2 weeks ago my baby died 
. she died a few days before we were going to leave on vacation. It was really hard for me and Our male duck and they had just met around 3 weeks before. And instantly became best friends if she got out of the pond he would if he left the coop to go explore she would follow him. But about a week later after everything was perfect I noticed she was kind of limping so I carried her to the coop since that seemed to be where she was going and when I put her down in the coop she got food and water then when straight to her bed/ sleeping area and stayed there the rest of the evening well she got food and water but besides that she wouldn’t really go anywhere else and of course he stayed by her side the whole time and this happened tomorrow too after about 5 hours of being in the pond and exploring she came back too the coop and wouldn’t leave the rest of the night but she wouldn’t fall asleep she just sat there for awhile so I was really confused but then I remembered I heard about something called bumblefoot so I checked her thinking that was the only thing it could be and it was bumblefoot so we treated her and everything for a few days she was getting better but then things really went downhill everyday she got a lot worse and as I am only a kid there was not much I could do I can’t drive and don’t have enough money to take her too the vet I was doing all I could at home I gave her a epsom salt bath every night put on ointment and wrapped her foot but nothing seemed to help she had fresh water every morning and night and I checked on her multiple times everyday but she seemed happiest in the pond so everyday I carried her to and from the pond and I made sure she ate and drank but then sadly on Tuesday July 21 she passws away at 7:08 pm I did all I could for weeks and weeks I’ve Been doing all I could I’ve talked to so many people but they all say that she really wasnt going to have a long life do to the many health problems she seemed to have. I got her on March 9 from rural king and when I got her she seemed a lot weaker from the rest kind of like the runt she had a bit of a walking problem but it was fine then as weeks went by it got a little worse then one day out of the blue she couldn’t walk and then some amazing people helped me figure out what was wrong with her and then I started treating her for a niacin deficiency and about 2 months later every thing was perfect then the drakes started picking on her but an amazing lady wanted the drakes and took them and I got a new drake and they instantly fell in love but then as I said she got really sick and that’s the storyof my little angle my baby who I raised since she was a little baby I will never forget her and I now know what it feels like to loose someone that you love so deeply and it’s like a piece of my heart has been taken away when she died I honestly didn’t know if I could raise ducks again and I hope know one loses any ducks to the same fate as mine and just love your ducks you don’t know what day might be there last. This is for Little Quack. My little angle who will forever be in my heart
