Hello, im new to this community. Im not joining because of my pet or a chicken farm, but a Muscovy duck loves my fireplace oven to rest in. She lays eggs but only few struggle to live. This batch was laid 2 days ago begging with 8 the next day 2 was left today one was dead after I left food and water for them... its sad for me and many others so I want too know what happened. The last duckling was doing splits and couldn’t right it’s self when fallen backwards. After about 3 seconds of struggling he stopped closed his eyes and panted.

This is a photo before today if that helps

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Sorry to read about the poor ducklings. Perhaps the parents aren't well nourished? I don't know much about the best care for ducks. Someone here will be able to help you. Good luck.

:welcome

Sorry about the ducklings. I've never raised any type of duck, but you can find the duck forum with this link:
Ducks

Best of luck!

Hi! :frow Welcome to BYC! Sorry you are having such a rough time with these babies. I'm not sure why you are losing the ducklings. Is mama duck staying with them or leaving them? The last duckling has splayed leg. Search the forums for splayed or straddled legs and how to fix them. Here is one short article:

https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/fixing-splayed-or-straddled-legs-on-chicks.73431/

But reading some of the posts in the forums will give you more of a discussion on this as well as perhaps some of the other issues you are dealing with.

Good luck!

Thank you very much. Mama duck is very protective so I have to gain her trust every-time I go outside. So she stays with them 24/7 expect to get food every 2-3 hours the duckling on the other hand has sadly passed away this morning :(
