Heres the rooster box my brother built for me! I love it!

Do ya'll think that when we lock the boy up at night, should we lock his girlfriend up with him? Will that make him noisier? But if we don't lock them up together they will both be lonely at night so I'm not sure what to do.

I don't know but I'd bet it would be best to have them together, perhaps the box can go into the coop? Did he make it so the rooster can't stretch his neck to crow?

Tell us how it works out??!!

But the if it was in the coop it would be really hard to cover it up so they wouldn't see the light. Apparently it doesn't matter if they can/cannot stretch their neck out as they will still crow

Will do! So excited!

Tell me about it! 8 sultans on their way and their's will be coop #3! The first one is the toughest though, because I have it going up against a 3' high block wall. I think I just finally figured out how I'm going to seal it off, now all I need is some metal stakes, LOL, it's always more to buy from the store!

Anyways... Can I request more sultan pictures? They're so beautiful and I'm so excited! I can't wait for mine to grow up (and I don't even have any yet!)

I have a question,

I bought Sultan Bantams at Ideal, and they list theirs as being 36 oz and 34 oz at maturity

However, I have since found that they should be 22 and 20 oz when grown. Does Ideal have a typo on their site, or are their bantam Sultans too large? I'm wondering if any of you people out there who bought bantam sultans from ideal have ever weighed your birds and could answer? Obviously, I'm hoping it's a typo as I'd like them to be showable if my daughter decides she's like to do that, but we'll love them either way ;P

Thanks!

havent weighed them but my parents got some bantams from there and 3 out of the 5 have developed red on the feathers and have several black feathers as well.
