Yippee!!

Now it's time to get down to some serious chicken studies on sultans. I can read back through the older posts but I'd love to see recent pictures and read your stories about your birds and their temperaments!

Aime, This is my first run with Sultans this year. These two on this thread (Hok and Cluck) are a WEALTH of knowledge. (thanks ladies for helping me so far). I LOVE my little sultans. They are just comedians and so affectionate. They will attach to you so quick.

I woud still wait. Mine had a wonky looking crest for awhile and I was SURE it was a male. However several weeks later the feathers grew longer and her crest smoothed out.

Is Vick's comb growing up his forehead? Still a little young for that though. I'd say by 8 weeks you would see reddening if it's a boy...maybe. haha

nope his comb is that little jumble of stuff in a knot with no feathers still. has not changed in two weeks. A little pink is all. He just acts like a he. lol

I have a few that are so obviously male at only 2.5 weeks it's almost comical. They stand tall, are the first to rush me when I have treats, and very vocal, etc.

I need to get new pictures of Jasmine. She needs a bath first, but she has blossomed into a beautiful little lady. These new babies have some big shows to fill

that's the way Vick is. Stands tall and upright, tail straight up, first to rush the cat constantly, rushed at me when I had Elizabeth and she squacked. was so cute. Gut says male.

Pink and blue for boy and girl? I would agree at this point. Think hair: Albert Einstein = boy; Doris Day = girl.
