They are doing just fine.

Yes that's really common among hatchery sultans. Mine are like that too :)

Well I am happy to announce that I have finally beaten the mites! My rooster was the one infecting everybody so I was able to treat effectively. Now no more mites on Jasmine and she will be getting a bath today! She needs a haircut too but I'll be doing a photoshoot first ;)

Victoria and Elizabeth have found the outdoors!!!!!!

And I hated to do it, but they both got a hair cut. Amazing! Look at the world Ma, now I can see!!!!
They are gorgeous! What a pair! I was just going to ask about hair cuts? Do you pull out the feathers? Or literally cut them? If you cut them, do you have to be careful about the blood?

Look at the difference in leg color on these two girls! what's up with that? 'Torias are grey, Elizabeths are yellow???
I'm going to have to look closer at mine. I hadn't noticed one with yellow legs, but I might have one too?

Oh, that's got to be a relief! I have 3 girls who are so good looking, with nice crests, but they can't see! I feel awful about trimming back the feathers, and just as bad about leaving them! But since I don't plan on showing, I'm going to do something....as soon as I find out how to..

It's super easy, just get some fingernail scissors (they have a blunt tip) and trim the feathers in front of and above the eyes. You don't have to trim all the way to the skin so leave about 1/2" or so near the skin and you don't have to worry about blood.
