the sultan thread

So glad they're all OK!

Hi all!
I breed and show several different breeds, and once upon a time I had Sultans. Due to a family accident that required me to care for a relative I sold them. Now I would like to get into them again. Does anyone have any suggestions on where the best person or farm to get quality Sultans from? I am looking for show exhibition quality as I will be showing them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

That's a tough one. We used to have a few people rather serious about the bantams, but they no longer have them. I think all of us chatting here lately got ours from a hatchery

Kiaa is from Azerbaijan, so his beautiful birds are unattainable

So I really don't know what to say?, so sorry!

Someone with the name Annabelle or something got quality sultan hatching eggs from somewhere, but I'm not sure where. There are still breeders of standard sized sultans, but they are difficult to find. Good luck!

Yeah, they are hard to find! I'd love to get a good, quality show line started but I haven't found anyone near or around me that has any. I don't have my bator set up yet to accept eggs so I'm stuck with what I have until I can start adding a few higher quality birds to my group. D:

Update on Raja: she is still doing good! No issues and no problems that I can tell. My polish is also doing well. It has been cold and rainy here the past few days but they all still go out and play in the mud. So no other issues with limping or sudden sickness.

Maybe it was just a quick "thing". I am hesitant to sell or trade any of my known cockerels until I know for sure what is going on. I'd be devastated if it was something serious, so just going to keep monitoring and crossing my fingers for the best!

I can't really tell for certain, but it looks like it's just a bit mangled, probably from being scared up (by a fly?) and "escaping" near a wall or fence? Mine freak out constantly, it's so funny! Can't even tell what caused it, they just suddenly panic sometimes??

Thanks I hope it's normal before October.
