The sun was a little strong yesterday so I set up a tarp on the side of the run to cast some shade. A few hours later my wife tells me that one of the chickens has a blue strand sticking out of its mouth and it won't come out. After investigating it appears that she (the chicken) had found a loose strand from the tarp and began to eat it. It was in pretty snug but she had two feet of blue strand sticking out of her mouth and I pulled out almost three feet. By the way she was squawking you'd think I was killing her. I was a bit worried but this morning she is running around just fine.
I've always told people that they would eat anything so be careful what you throw to them. I never would have figured that though.
Time for a new tarp I guess.
