Hello there! I am new to this community, and it appears that a majority of the members here know more about chickens than I do. I have an inquiry regarding my Silkie, Truffle. At first, I was praying that my little fluff-ball would be a hen. Truffle was very mellow and sweet, but a little shy at the same time (nothing a little pats and hand-feeding couldn’t fix!) Tgis last month, I’ve begun to notice a quicker development of a crest and a wattle on Truffle. Last week, we realized he was actually a little cockerel when he finally crowed (albeit pathetically; he hasn’t done it ever since). I don’t mind having a roo, considering that he is unusually mellow, likes to be held more than the other silkies, and goes for walks with me regularly. ( We get antsy when there’s something to explore, so I have to set him down). Will he stay sweet like this forever if I keep giving him attention? He also treats his girls very well, and will even let the babies sleep under him. ♥️♥️♥️
