Daniel realized how strange he had sounded, and said "That sounded wierd, forget that." When the branch came crashing down on him, he smiled at Naeva and joked "Don't make me suck the last blood out of your cold body."

Charlotte sat huddled in the corner of the small room, wrapping her bony arms around her knees. She sat confused and disoriented after being sedated by the doctors. All day they had examined and prodded her, taking samples with sharp neddles. Three sides of the small room were thick concrete walls, the 4th side being a long glass viewing window, were a large group of scientists observed her like an exotic animal in the zoo.
