the uncurable sticky butt...

I'm treating for vent gleet right now just in case, nothing to lose... how much molasses to I put in the water?
 
SHES CURED!!!!!!! The 12th nice warm bath followed by daily iodine sprays and constant baby wipes to the butt did the trick!!!!

THANKS EVERYONE!! she was my only white egg to hatch, so I HAD TO CURE HER!! :)
 
I just bought 12 leghorn hens. They came in the mail Friday. I have them in a Rubbermaid tote with lots of water, and crumbles for food. I noticed 4 had black stuff around their butts. My wife read the article identifying it as sticky butt. I used a warm wet rag and got the feces off. The girls were actually pretty good about it. I have a heat lamp on them. One article said it could be too hot. Is that likely the issue? The temp says about 95 degrees in the box. I also have them on wood shavings. Should I eliminate the lamp, change from wood to news paper?
