Just wanted to thank everyone and their suggestions on our so called RAT problem. We have not as yet seen what exactly killed three of our baby chicks. We did however made sure the chicks were in a more secure closure at night. We filled in all holes around the perimeter of the chicken coupe, and as of lately no signs of a predator.
Many of you suggested a mink or weasel instead of a rat. We possible may try a night camera to get a true view of this critter. We will continue to be persistent in keeping our chicks safe especially at night. And if we ever find out what is lurking around our chicks we will let you know. I'm optimistic that whatever it is has moved on.
