The Vengeance Of The Soft Shells

Hola, PetDuck!

I have not had time to check the forum closely this summer.

Something that helped with Sechs was keeping her in, in the dark, and letting her go broody. She sat on some dud eggs, and she was broody for two whole months! But that was fine with me - she stopped laying, and gave her system a chance to rest. I did take her to the vet because a soft egg had caused an oviduct prolapse and she needed stitches.

I continue to have some ducks with soft eggs, even with calcium gluconate supplement. Something is up, but I cannot figure out what yet.

PM me if you wish. Very full summer.

Very very happy to hear from you!

Amiga! I can not tell you how thrilled I am to hear from my BYC family again. I've missed you all so very dearly. I appreciate all of the hard work and long nights you've put into me and my baby. What process did you use to make her go broody? Did you just bring her inside? For how long?

My summer has been rather eventful as well. Not as full as yours I'm sure though. It's splendid to see you again as well :D
