*The Verge of War* A Medieval Rp

Edwin nodded, even though Alena obviously couldn't see it. He finished buttoning his shirt, then emerged from behind the screen, fully dressed and looking more like a prince.
--
"Stand up, child, and dry your eyes," Maud said to Gwen as she handed her a silk handkerchief.
--
Linnet giggled like a child, then took her hood off to feel the sunshine. She made her way slowly along the stone path that led to the herb garden.

Alena finished the bed, and walked over to straighten his collar. "Much better." She stepped away and blushed.
---------
Gwen dried ger eyes, and quickly fixed her composure. "Thank you Maud."

Edwin groaned. He hated all the pampering he was given, being the prince.
--
"Of course, dear." Maud said sweetly. She buttoned the white silk sleeves on Gwen. "There, you look gorgeous! Not that you don't when not wearing this dress," she quickly corrected herself.
--
Linnet wandered in and out of the flowerbeds. She saw something that looked somewhat like a body laying in the grass several yards ahead.

She laughed. "You should be used to this now. Besides, your lucky its just me. Some of the others would be much harder on you.
--------
Gwen laughed. "Thank you.You always choose the most beautiful gowns."

"Yeah, I guess so." He sighed.
--

"Well, the most beautiful deserves only the best," Maud replied. She crossed over to the vanity.
--
Linnet slowed her pace as she neared the body. It was a young woman, lying in the grass asleep. (Shan)

"Cheer up." She smiled at him. "You aren't getting married yet, just be happy about that. Besides it could be worse. You could already be in love."
-------
Gwen blushed. "You are very kind."

(Oooh you just put him on the spot :p)

Edwin looked at her. "No, it couldn't be worse," he said. He went over to the made bed and sat down, causing a couple pillows to topple. He put his head on his hands and sighed.
--
Maud looked lovingly at Gwen. She felt sorry for the poor girl, whom she loved like a daughter. "Come," Maud said as she beckoned to the vanity stool.

Alena Frowned and sat down by him. "What's wrong."
-----
Gwen obeyed, sitting down so that Maud could do her hair.

(Hehe, it's better than what I originally had in mind.)

Edwin continued staring at the floor. He thought a moment before answering, "If you were about to marry a man you had seen three times, two of those times when you were still in the nursery, would you be happy?" He asked, looking into her eyes.
--
Maud expertly put Gwen's hair into a fishtail braid, then twirled it into a high bun. "What do you wish to do today, your highness?"

Gwen though for a moment. "Hmmm. The garden sounds nice."
