Katrina roller her eyes. "If ye lived in a castle near all your life, you'd figure things out. The queen and king!! They be control freaks and using their Children like pawns!" She clasped her hand over her mouth when she realized what she had just said aloud. "I'm so sorry Your Highness!" She exclaimed.

Adrienne burst into tears "It's not fair!" She sobbed "Why can't we all just live together in one big palace!?" She buried her face into Calder's feathers in a not at all dignified manner.
 
Edwin backed away. "Alena, do you realize for talking to royalty this way, it could mean a death sentence? And do you know why I intend to help you?" He asked patiently

Gavin quieted up real quick and waited for Jenel's response. He glanced at Katrina, then back at Jenel. He took a couple of steps back.

Katrina wrung her hands. "'Miss, if it be fine by ye, I'd rather go where ye goes. After all, that was the agreement. I work for you and ye sister, in exchange for boardin and meals," she said quietly. She suddenly realized leaving would mean leaving Gavin by himself in the cave. Thoughts began rushing into her head.
