*The Verge of War* A Medieval Rp

Jane looked up from her book. "Oh, hello sir," she tried to get up to curtsy, by tripped on the hem of her gown. She winced as a loud tear was heard. "I'm Lady Jane," she introduced herself, once she had gotten up. "I'm on my way to Edinburgh castle, but as you see, my carriage has broken a wheel."
---
Edmund sat down and beckoned for Peter to sit. "Yes?"

"Is there anything I could do to assist you?" Arthur asked dismounting.

"The Lady Linnet and myself wish to marry." Peter said with a grin. "She suggested I ask you if we may marry here, in your castle."

Jane backed against the tree so he wouldn't see the very torn hem of her gown. "You could ask my driver, Smith," she suggested.
--
Edmund nodded. "I know. And in doing so you both are risking the king and queen's wrath but it's true love so it works, right? Anyway, your fair lady should be here in half an hour. I suggest you follow that guy up to a guest quarter."
'That guy' who Edmund was referring to stepped forward. "East wing? Sir?" He asked.
Edmund nodded yes.
---
Maud nervously knocked on Gwen's door. She straightened her apron out and adjusted the vase of flowers that she carried on the tray along with the letter.

Arthur went to speak with the driver, coming back a few moments later. "He says its going to be a few hours."

"And you will keep our secret?" Peter asked.

Gwen came up the stairs to see Maud standing by her door. "Good morning Maud." She said cheerfully. She was planning on changing quickly and going to see if Alex was in his room, but that could wait a few minutes longer.

"Yes. I shall. The bishop (no, wasn't bishop. Whoever the guy is who marries people. Pastor and preacher aren't what I'm thinking of) will be here tomorrow evening." Edmund said
--
"Good morning your highness. Here's a letter for you from Lady Linnet. Shall I help you into another gown?" She offered.

Arthur thought for a moment. "I could give you a ride. If you don't mind sitting on the back of a horse for a while."

jk)

Peter's grin widened. "Thank you Edmund." His smile faltered for a moment."It wont be too much trouble?"

"Thank you Maud." She said taking the envelope. "I can dress myself, unless you simply must." She teased.

Jane looked at her maid. "I suppose so. But only if it won't be an inconvenience to you at all," she said.
--
(Yessss! Pope! Haha thanks)

"No, of course not. I don't have anything better to do," Edmund replied.
---
"If you insist you can do it by yourself. You always tend to forget the last button," Maid said. She didn't particularly want to be in the room when Gwen read the letter, in case Gwen should question further.
--
Mariah knocked again. A servant opened the door. "Announcing, Her Royal Highness," the servant said to Audric. "Yes yes, scoot," Mariah told the poor servant.
"Audric, love," she said.

Arthur shook his head. "Its alright. I'm not headed anywhere important. It would be more trouble to leave your here."

(no. Its not the pope idt. Lol I was kidding. The pope is in...europe?)

Peter's smile returned. "Thank you. For everything."

Audric looked up from his card game. "Yes Dear?" He asked, hiding his irritation, he had been on a role.

(Oh haha meanie. :p )

Jane smiled. "Well, if you are positively sure, then that would be great."
---
Edmund stood up to leave the room. "No problem. You never know, I may come to you with the same crazy dilemma," he laughed.
---
"My niece is to be here at lunch! Come, come! Get out of this drafty library and put some decent clothes on that suggest your royalness!" Mariah spun out of the room. She needed to make sure the servants had prepared the room for Jane.

Maud scurried off to go find Adrienne.
