ALEX shrugged there are some cakes farther out. I thought that possibly I could put my knightly talents to use.

Jane looked around them at the landscape. It wasn't much different from where she lived, though there were more hills here. (Like a dummy, she didn't even ask his name.)
"Sir, pray tell, what is your name? I completely forgot formalities earlier when we met."

The guard helped Linnet out of the cart. Some servants took her luggage inside while a stable hand went to put the horse and cart away. Linnet thanked them, then headed inside. She looked rather disheveled from the short trip and wished to change before greeting Peter. Edmund was waiting in the hall when she came in.

Mariah was thrilled to the tip of her toes to finally have a decent lady in waiting, and one that was related! If things didn't go well with Gwen, she'd have Royal back up for Edwin or even possibly Cliffton.

Jane smile. "Alexander. Well, Alexander, since it seems I am to be riding on the back of your horse with you for a little while, we may as well make chit-chat. Do you have any family? Titles? Land?"

A maid took Linnet to a guest room in the west side of the castle to get ready. Linnet changed from her dusty brown kirtle she had traveled in to a red kirtle. She sat impatiently while the maid fixed her hair in a long braid.

Edmund went to the kitchens to ensure that the supper would be to his satisfaction.

"Did he run off?" Cliffton asked "Or did someone manage to steal my horse?" his royal eyes looked very angry "Where is the guard!?"

Gavin stroked a cat who was sleeping in his lap.

Genevieve dismounted and handed her horse over to a stable boy, who was watching Cliffton and Edwin with interest. Genevieve turned toward Katrina, started to say something, but stopped. (Anyone seen Beaky lately?)

Adrienne was in her room trying to teach Calder to catch grapes that she tossed him.

Jephry took his falcon out hunting again.

Cedric stopped in his tracks when he saw the large deer in his path. Dismounting and taking his bow from the saddle bags he debated weather or not it would be convenient to carry a dead deer all the way to Edinburgh. He decided not, and climbed back on his horse.

Edwin put his arm around Cliffton. "I don't know, but we'll find out."

Katrina, wide eyed, backed into the shadows a bit. She looked down respectfully, as the servants were not allowed to look their superiors in the eye. (Nope)

Anna brought the letter over to the table. She dripped the candle wax from the candle on it to seal. "here it is," she said.

Cedric pulled his horse to a halt when he saw a carriage on the side of the road.
 
"They're all dead...except Gwen." But the last part was to himself. "I have no land, I'm a knight. I lived at the castle." ALEX replied.

Thomas ran out to the yards to find a suitable fencing partner.

Elaina laughed silently to herself as her foolish brother ran past the window below.
