*The Verge of War* A Medieval Rp

Alfric blinked a few times, then stood to follow. His arm did seem to have improved a little, but was still paining him terribly. Too much so to sleep through.
"Thought so," Edmund murmured. He opened the kitchen door for the two, then followed behind. Fawn knew where the apothecary was so she headed that way, making sure to keep to less used hallways.

Alfric stood again, gritting his teeth as he solemnly followed Fawn from the room. He could feel Edmunds gaze burrowing into the back of him. It seemed a million years had passed since he had last seen Edinburgh, a sad though now, he may never see those walls again. He sighed and dropped his gaze, his eyes prickled with tears.

Edmund opened the door for them to enter. The apothecary was absent due to the late hour, but Fawn knew what would help Alfric. Edmund was rather ignorant and useless other than finding the items Fawn needed, so he sat down on a bench in the corner to stay out of her way. "Sit," Fawn told Alfric as she pointed to a wooden table in the center of the room.

Alfric quickly brushed the tears from his eyes and walked over to the table, seating himself on the edge.
"Can you get a bowl of warm water and some clean rags for me?" Fawn asked Edmund.
"Of course." He quickly stood and left to go find the requested items.
"Let me see your arm," Fawn said, turning to Alfric.

Alfric carefully rolled up his sleeve and looked at his arm. Somehow seeing the dark purple bruises only seemed to make it hurt even more. He prodded it a few times in different places, wincing when he hit a particularly tender spot. Had Fawns arm been in the same state? He looked at the girl, if she was in pain, she was certainly doing a good job of hiding it.

Fawn's face showed no sign of surprise or concern as she examined his arm. "Sir Edmund should have rugs put down for the next time you decide to poke around his castle," she said jokingly once she had finished.
She leaned against the table and looked up at him curiously. "Why are you here?" She asked.

"I don't think a rug would have done much to help." He said. Fawn was done pretty quickly, he couldn't tell what she was thinking. He stayed seated and waited for Edmund to return with the water. "Depends who's asking. So who are you?"

(She hasn't done anything to him yet. She's waiting on the water to clean it first)

"May of," Fawn shrugged. "I told you already. Fawn of Alnwick," she said.

(I meant she was done inspecting it.)

"That's very vague." Alfric replied. "It's a ball, why do you think I'm here?"
