*The Verge of War* A Medieval Rp

(I meant she was done inspecting it.)

"That's very vague." Alfric replied. "It's a ball, why do you think I'm here?"
(Ah. Sorry for the delay In replying. Tuesday evenings are always super busy for me)

"But I don't believe you were sent to guard me," Fawn replied. She stood as Edmund entered the room with the water and rags.
"Here you go," he said as he set them down beside Alfric. "Do you need anything else?"
"No, thank you," Fawn smiled gratefully at him. She dipped a rag into the water then pressed it against Alfric's bruise to clean the area.

(No problem :))

Alfric was about to speak when Edmund bustled into the room, slugging a large bowl of water. He quickly closed his mouth and followed him across the room with his eyes, flinching when Fawn pressed one of the rags against his shoulder. Water ran down his arm and collected on the table top, a slightly red-brown tinge clouding it. "I've got it." He said, glancing up at fawn and taking the rag from her.

Fawn nodded and moved to get one of the bottles Edmund had gotten out earlier for her to use.
"Does it hurt very badly?" Edmund asked Alfric.

Alfric looked at his arm again and frowned, much of the "bruise" seemed to have lifted off. He wiped it again and then pulled his sleeve down over it, hopping from the table onto his feet. "The ball will be almost over by now, I have outstayed my welcome I'm sure."

Fawn held out a bottle of oily smelling salve. "You probably have," she said, "but I'm afraid you must outstay it a moment more to apply this. It will help ease the pain and heal the wound," she stated.

Alfric sniffed at the salve and made a face. He dipped his fingers into it and gently massaged it into his shoulder. It was cool and tingled slightly, but it did seem to help. "Thanks." He said, pulling his sleeve back over his arm.

"You're most welcome," Fawn nodded.
Edmund had been watching Alfric intently since he had let him out of the storage room earlier. He still didn't believe his story completely and wanted to know more before Alfric left. "You needn't worry about overstaying," Edmund said as he stood up and went around the table to the two. "I wouldn't be surprised if the dancing went on all night, the food as well. Many guests have been invited to stay the night, and there's room for you as well, if you don't mind sharing a room with some other guards," he told "James".

Alfric glanced from the clean, well maintained Edmund, to the rather bedraggled, dusty Fawn, and back again. She had a long string of cobweb stuck in her hair but he thought it better not to mention it. "I would like to wash, but then I need to speak to Lady Fawn here. If that suited you, Sir." He said, as gratuitously as he could.
