Edwin sat on a big chair in his room. His mind reeled.

Mariah finished up her list for the great feast they'd have on Edwin's birthday celebration. It would be an 8-course dinner, complete with sugar sculptures. She went over to her wardrobe. Her new gown was nearly finished. She'd have a final fitting tomorrow morning. 'Where was Jenel?' She thought. Jenel's gown needed to be fitted one last time. Lariah's was already completed.

Fawn climbed out her window. She needed to go to a quiet place to think. The gardens! She hurried along the wall, then dropped down to the ground quietly. She spied Peter several yards away. She decided to follow him.

Linnet closed her eyes. Sleep soon claimed her.

Peter saw her sleeping, and decided not to disturb her, instead he walked around her small garden, looking at all the magnificent flowers.

Lariah didn't take the hand Arthur offered her, so he just jumped in. He came up laughing. "Well, there goes the prospect of catching any fish."

Edwin fell asleep in the chair. He began dreaming. It was the same dream he had had yesterday, and the day before. It was unsettling.

The maid entered Mariah's room. "Have you found Jenel?" She asked the maid.
"Yes mam," the maid replied. She curtsied then left the room.
"Come in, Jenel!" Mariah said.
 
Gwen flopped down on her bed, exhausted. She had just been holding out her arms the hours, for her fitting. She was satisfied though, her gown was beautiful.
