*The Verge of War* A Medieval Rp

Edmund frowned. He stared at Redd for a moment before taking the envelope. "I take it you mean Queen Mariah?" He asked skeptically. He glanced in Gwen's direction, hoping she wasn't done yet.

Fawn stealthily crept around to where Redd's horse was. She pet it and talked to it softly, to keep it calm.
---
"Oh, well, right, and I was" Gavin defended laughingly "For a long time...but you know how it goes...soft rug warm fire and bam...where IS Alena?"
Katrina went to the window and glanced out. "Maybe those two Knights took her back to the castle where she belongs," she mused.
(Crazychick)

Linnet entered the castle's courtyard. She asked a servant where she might find Sir Peter. The servant pointed towards the great hall. Thanking him, Linnet and Richard headed that way.

Mariah watched the two when they rode into the paddock. She hurried down to intercept them. She hoped Redd was at his destination and that the deed was done.

"No. The other queen. Who wants the princess dead. Its obviously her mother." Redd rolled his eyes.
Edmund wanted to kick Redd. Glaring at him, he slowly opened the letter. He read it once, then a second time. "She really wants this done, doesn't she. Especially to have to send a mutt like you out here to force me to do it," he said brusquely.

Fawn listened to the conversation between the two young men. She had the advantage, being down wind of them. Despite them trying to talk on low tones, she could hear nearly every word perfectly.

(Where is Alena??)
---
Richard rolled his eyes, but diligently followed Linnet as she nearly ran through the castle. He looked up at a large stained window, then collided with Linnet, who had stopped suddenly.
Mariah smirked at the two. "Good day, Lady Linnet. What brings you here?" She asked
Linnet smiled with relief, glad the queen wasn't upset about their near collision. "I'm looking for Peter–Sir Peter," she stuttered.
Mariah nodded her head gracefully. "Follow me," she said with a wave of her hand.
Unsure of what to do, Richard followed Linnet reluctantly.

(x2, what happened to Alena?)
(And does anyone remember what happened last with Adrienne? I can't find it

(Oh yeah right...thanks!)

Adrienne pulled Maud after her back into the castle and into the kitchen "Maybe Gwen came to get some breakfast" She said hopefully, though she knew it wasn't true. When was the last time a princess had to go GET breakfast?

Redd shook his head amused. "Not the only mutt here." He smirked. "And you plan to kill the girl who loves you, and thinks you feel the same."

Gwen frowned. "Was this true?"

Edmund roughly pushed Redd against a tree and put the dagger to his neck again. "Get out. Now," he growled under his breath.

Fawn chuckled to herself. She came up behind Gwen. Pulling her cloak over her face, she faked a limp. "Miss, might ye have a coin or two to spare?" She disguised her voice.
---
Linnet hesitantly followed Mariah up a winding staircase. They stopped at a huge ornate wood door. Richard and Linnet waited while Mariah opened the door. "Welcome. To my private parlor. Take a seat, dear, and I shall ring for Sir Peter," she said sweetly.
Linnet obeyed, and sat down. Richard stood by the fire.
Mariah rang her bell, and a servant hurried in. Whispering instructions to him, he left. Mariah sat down on a velvet settee.

Redd chuckled. "If you kill me, the queen will hire somebody to kill you." He nodded towards the place where Gwen had disappeared to. "-and her....?

Peter opened his door. "May I help you?"

Gwen jumped and looked back at the women, there was something familiar about her. "No. I-I-I'm sorry."
