*The Verge of War* A Medieval Rp

Edmund put the knife back in his belt, and turned abruptly. "Fine, whatever you say," he called over his shoulder.

Fawn shook her head. "Ah, no, your highness, I like it here," she chuckled. She turned to head back to her horse, who was tied to a tree a good many yards away so Edmund and Gwen wouldn't see it.

Katrina sighed. "I don't know. What would happen if Jenel's guards arrived arrived and we weren't here?"

Redd heard the bushes rustling and quickly made his exit.

Gwen stomped back to the cabin, almost forgetting her bucket of water. "Edmund!"

Edmund glared at Redd as he walked away. He had a feeling Redd wasn't done here yet. Turning to Gwen, he put on a smile. "What's the matter?"

Smirking, Fawn turned around as soon as Gwen had left. She sat down in the brush to keep an eye on the anonymous travelers and Redd.

"My father's assassin followed us!" Setting the pale down, Gwen went to sit down, completely forgetting that Redd had been here only moments ago.

"And what if they don't come? And what if they do, and they're like...like those...Knights?" Gavin asked.

Edmund shrugged. "You probably just thought you recognized him," he said. He was oblivious to Fawn being in the vicinity, and thought Gwen was referring to Redd

Katrina sighed. "I don't know! I'm not sure what to do," she said exasperatedly. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to raise me voice. I'm so sick of not knowing what is to happen to me own life. All my life I've been told by other people what to do and how to behave, so I'm not quite sure how to make my own choices, I guess," she said sorrowfully.

Gavin sighed "And I'm not used to making choices that may affect someone else. Do whatever you feel you must. If you think you should go back to the castle, then please, do as you need to. If you want to stay here, I will be more than happy to stay with you. But if you feel as I do and think we need to leave, I know somewhere we can go" He took Katrina's hand "And I will support you in whatever you decide" He added quietly

Blushing, Katrina pulled her hand away and went to the window. "I know you would. And thank you." She sighed, and picked at the wood window frame. "I've never had someone who actually cared about me and what I do as much as you," she said quietly.

"And I've never cared for anyone...aside from myself" Gavin smiled slightly "Until now, that is" He turned his attention to dusting the mantle with a handkerchief he had on hand "don't make a hasty decision on what to do...think about it. And I'll help you in any way I can"

"So um for now, I guess we should stay here a little longer. Till one of us comes up with a decent idea or the guards arrive."

Linnet stood up. "Peter! Have you talked to King Audric yet?" She asked

Mariah stood up as well. "Talked to him about what?" she asked.

Linnet looked at the queen, then back at Peter. "I suppose that means you haven't talked to him yet. Would you tell Queen Mariah what I'm talking about?"

Richard leaned against the wall, listening to the conversation.
