Maud tried to act cheerful for the young girl. "Come here, child," she said, her arms open wide for a hug.

Richard frowned. Apparently Gwen hadn't returned during their absence

Upon arriving at the castle, he looked around for guards, and snuck around the back of the stable. He quietly lifted the latch.

Adrienne ran toward Maud "Oh Maud, we didn't find her!" Adrienne sobbed "What could have happened to her?"

Katrina hummed to herself as she cleaned up the dough mess.

Maud embraced the sobbing girl. "Oh, dear, she'll return very soon," she assured her.
She looked at Richard, who shook his head. "No sign of her," he said quietly.

Gavin quietly crept up to a young black horse. He held out his hand for him to smell, quietly ordered him to be quiet, and opened the stall door.

"How soon?" Adrienne asked tearfully "She's been gone for a long time"

She knew something had been wrong when her daughter hadnt been home for a few days. "Do they know what happened?" She asked, she kept calm but her eyes looked worried.

Gwen laughed. "Edmund please don't call me that." She thought for a moment. "That sounds like a good idea."

Katrina added another log to the dying fire.

Linnet shook her head. "No, your highness. She just up and disappeared or left yesterday morning. Maud found no trace of anything of her intention to leave in the bedroom," she explained.

Fawn had no idea where Redd had gone, and she had no intention of running after him like a lost puppy.

Gavin grabbed the horses bridal and led him out of the stable. He mounted him, turned him toward the woods, and nudged him forward.

Katrina went to wherever the pie was and checked it. It wasn't quite ready.

Maud opened the door for the little princess. "Let's go up to your room and you can have some tea and cake," she suggested.

Richard left them and went to his own room in the castle

Mariah finally calmed down. She sat down like a prim and proper queen at her desk to answer some letters regarding Jenel
