*The Verge of War* A Medieval Rp

(Stable boy anywhere has been played as needed. Filler kid. )

Edwin walked down the stable aisle. Peter's horse wasn't there. Peter hadn't mentioned having to go anywhere. Maybe he left a note.
(Peter, Cliffton)
Katrina hurried after Genevieve. She went around back to the kitchen door. Staying in the shadows, she worked her way to the laundry to get a clean dress and apron.

Anna proceeded to pack a bag of food for Gavin.
(Gavin)
--
Emilee moaned and groaned. "And I thought cleaning the kitchen a billion times a day was hard," she muttered.

---
Maud set a platter of fruit on Adrienne's table. Beside it she set a plate of a thick slice of cake. "Here's a snack," she said.
(Adrienne)
--
Jane nodded, though of course the man couldn't see. "Edinburgh castle?" She asked.
(Alex)
(Alex is a guard. I can change it)
---
Linnet hurried down the stairs to the dining room where Edmund had instructed her to come.
(Peter)

Alena rushed around the corner, running into a redheaded maid. "I-I'm sorry." She mumbled.
(Katrina?)

Alex thought for a moment. "Yes...and no. I was a guard at Edinburgh, but as part of the treaty, three of our guards were transferred to Alnwick. Something about keeping peace."

Peter rubbed the sleep from his eyes, and smoothed his hair back down. He wasn't supposed to have fallen asleep, and hoped he wasn't late. He huried down the stairs and into the dining hall.

Katrina heard footsteps running. She stopped, only to be nearly knocked down by a girl. "It's fine," she said as she stood up.
--
"Interesting. The treaty of marriage between the prince and princess?" She asked. She had heard a little from her mother about it. The treaty made her father extremely angry, and she had only recently found out why.
--
A servant pulled out a chair for Linnet. Edmund was at the head of the table, Linnet to his left, and an empty chair for Peter on his right.
---
Mariah stitched a price of embroidery to pass the time. She had been looking forward to this day for weeks

Alena looked at the girl for a moment. "Are you new?" She asked.

"That's the one." Alex replied. "I prefer Alnwick anyway."

Peter walked along the long table to where Linnet and Edmund sat. "I apologize for my lateness."

Katrina shook her head. "I'm returning after visiting my mother," she said, continuing her mother lie.

Jane laughed. "That's a shame! I do hope Edinburgh isn't bad."
---
Linnet stood to greet Peter. She placed quick kiss on his cheek before sitting down again.
"No problem," Edmund told Peter

Alena frowned, and continued to slowly carry her fully laundry basket to the wash tubs. "They let you leave?!"

Alex smirked. "I did like it, but I have...other reasons for wanting to stay at Alnwick.

Peter smiled and sat next to Edmund. "I appreciate this. It would be alot harder if you had declined."

Katrina was a bit shocked at Alena's reaction. "Well yeah uh they did," she said. She untied her dirty apron and followed Alena to the laundry.
---
Jane listened intently. "May I ask what your 'other reasons' were?"
--
Edmund chuckled. "Well, like I said, I may need some crazy favor from you or your lovely wife-to-be in the future," he laughed awkwardly. Linnet listened to the men. A servant served them all a spiced wine and some other servants brought out platters of food.
--
Mariah was growing impatient. Jane was supposed to arrive at noon in time for lunch, and it was noon now. She stood up and paced the room, looking out the window occasionally

"That's not normal." Alena sighed. "They would never let me...not that I really want to."

"They are...umm..." Alex cleared his throat. "They are classified guard secrets." He lied dumbly.

Peter sat awkwardly in his chair, unsure what to say.

"Well I don't really want to talk about it," Katrina interrupted. She slipped off her dirty dress and tossed it in a basket of dirty laundry. She looked down at her feet. "I'm sorry, that wasn't polite," she apologized.
--
Jane placed her hands on her hips, balancing on the horse using her legs. "Classified secrets, eh? Well, I shan't question you further about it, Mister Alexander. Anyway, how much longer till we arrive?"
---
Linnet took a large swallow of her drink. Edmund looked back and forth from Peter to Linnet. Neither seemed in a talkative mood, so Edmund decided to do the talking. "How is the Prince Edwin?" He asked
--
Emilee sighed in relief when she saw a shady tree and creek ahead. She dismounted to eat lunch. Not bothering to tie the horse, she opened her bag of supplies and pulled out a piece of bread and an apple. She plopped down by the creek and put her feet in.
