Peter roller his eyes. "No actually. It is for date. Now if you excuse me, I must be returning to her." Peter gave Linnet an apologetic smile.
Growing dizzy, Linnet yanked her hand from Richard's and put it to her head. "Can we sit?" She asked Richard. He nodded vigorously, "Of course, here," he led her over to a bench then hurried off to fetch some water seeing that she was unwell. While he was gone, Linnet had a minute to think. Peter had been here all this time and hadn't even sought her out?
Perhaps he hadn't recognized her. Perhaps he thought she hadn't come, she told herself.
Redd soon found a young woman who was waiting to dance. She immediately agreed to oblige him for the next two dances.
Fawn allowed Edmund to lead her to a clear spot for dancing. Blushing, she placed her hand on his as he placed his other around her waist, causing her to redden even more. She hadn't been to a ball or even danced in many years, so this was all fairly new to her.
