*The Verge of War* A Medieval Rp

Cedric leaned up against the wall near Thomas. He knew this was supposed to be anonymous, but he wanted to have some idea who he was dealing "So...you like a stable boy or somethin?" He asked casually.

Thomas choked on the tart in his mouth. "A shable boy?" He mumbled. "You're joking!"

( Gwen is Ålans sister right?)

(Think so)
Peter roller his eyes. "No actually. It is for date. Now if you excuse me, I must be returning to her." Peter gave Linnet an apologetic smile.
Growing dizzy, Linnet yanked her hand from Richard's and put it to her head. "Can we sit?" She asked Richard. He nodded vigorously, "Of course, here," he led her over to a bench then hurried off to fetch some water seeing that she was unwell. While he was gone, Linnet had a minute to think. Peter had been here all this time and hadn't even sought her out? Perhaps he hadn't recognized her. Perhaps he thought she hadn't come, she told herself.

Redd soon found a young woman who was waiting to dance. She immediately agreed to oblige him for the next two dances.

Fawn allowed Edmund to lead her to a clear spot for dancing. Blushing, she placed her hand on his as he placed his other around her waist, causing her to redden even more. She hadn't been to a ball or even danced in many years, so this was all fairly new to her.

After exchanging a few words with the queen, William stepped away and walked around the room. The king had said Princess Gwen was coming. Maybe he'd beg a dance of her, though she probably wasn't in want of any partners. Other than the princess and a few others, he didn't really know anyone here.

Gwen sat in her chair, and sipped her champagne moodily.

Kat patrolled the outer borders of Edmund's estate.

Peter looked for Jane among the vast crowd.

Alfric hugged himself against the cold and approached the gate.
"I'm here for the ball." He shuddered, lifting his head so that the guards may see his mask.
One of the men, a rough looking man with a broad nose and small slanting eyes, took his name, James Cormack, and then checked him for weapons. Satisfied, he lifted the gate and allowed him to pass. This was the first time Alfric had seen Alnwick castle from this side of the walls, it was impressive, but not as grand as Edinburgh. He took a fleeting pride in this, but was in no mood to indulge it. The pathway to the great hall was lit up, guards patrolled the sidewalks in silence, clutching oil lamps which burnt brightly against the dark cobble walls. From a distance it was hard to tell where the sky ended and where the castle began. Heaven and earth seemed to have merged, and despite the heat in his head and the rattle in his chest, Alfric could not help but let his mind wonder. It seemed to be a new world altogether. He moved slowly, his eyes dancing from one place to another, never resting. By the time he reached the doors to the great hall he was stooped, and sweat ran in warm rivers down his neck, despite the cold. Two guards bowed slightly and pulled the doors open. The light struck Alfric, causing him to wince and lower his eyes. He shuffled inside and the doors were closed behind him.

After several mintues of searching, William gave up on searching amongst the many masked ladies for the princess. He was about to sit down when he spotted a lovely young woman sitting nearby. Perhaps she was waiting, and wanting, to dance. He slowly made his way over to where she was, causally looked around before asking, "Would you care to dance?"
(Gwen)

Richard returned, not emptyhanded. After Linnet had refreshed herself, she felt considerably better but decided against letting Richard know.
"Thank you, kind sir, for the drink," she smiled at him. "I think though, that I shall sit a little while longer till this headache passes." Richard nodded. He stood there a moment without saying anything, but then turned to her and said, "Very well then. If it is fine by you, I think I will see if that lonely lady over there wishes to dance." Linnet smiled and nodded her consent, eager to be rid of him.

*Jane is with Cliffton*

(Redd and Richard are both open to dance, if anyone's interested ;) Crazychick I know you love these guys )

Edmund's last sentence caused Fawn to turn nearly bright red. She quickly looked away to the floor, trying to avoid eye contact at that moment. "The rose petals were an excellent idea," she murmured, studying the ground too intently.
"Yes, they were. As was the rosemary, which was your idea," Edmjnd replied. He spun her around, dipping her as the song ended. Fawn rose up, breathless and blushing.
