The waiting, the waiting!!!!

I do have one that is squatting all the time and very vocal--constant clucking when I walk up--don't know if that means anything--she's always been a complainer. May I will have eggs for a Labor Day breakfast--fingers crossed!

im still waiting too, 4 rir's and 1 light sussex all at 20 weeks!!

I waiting too. Seems like forever! My Barred Rock will be 20 weeks tomorrow and her comb and waddle is really red. The other four are 3 and 4 weeks behind her. They are all getting very vocal lately too. I put golf balls in the nesting boxes. Do you all use golf balls, or should I put fake eggs in there?

He is only:gig a 7 month old Game but they are in love since they were put together. So don't know if she was "squatting" for him and he was ready or she was just "squatting" for the heck of it

I have two Golden Comets, 2 Cherry Eggers, 3 Ameraucanas, and 2 Cuckoo Marans. They were all one week old when we got them on April 13. One of the Golden Comets started laying at 18 1/2 weeks, and she is by far the most mature looking of all of them. The other Golden Comet has a small comb that is still pinkish. I am amazed at how differently they mature. I think one of the Cherry Eggers will be next based on comb size and color. Our Golden Comet, Annabelle, who is laying, matured almost overnight. One day she looked like all the others, the next day she had a really red comb, and about three days later we had our first egg.
