The weirdest technique for scrambled eggs I have ever seen.

Haha! I'm stealing that quote

And I bet the whirlpool iswhat went wrong.

Go ahead. I've enjoyed saying it many times.

I thought that one up many years ago. Probably I'm not the only one to say it but I like to think I came up with it first.

Well, I made the eggs this morning. Worked just as advertised. The eggs were very light, and perfectly cooked. On the downside, even after a thorough draining, water continued to ooze out and I had to rescue the toast from a watery fate. Also the eggs had a weak watery taste(I think they absorbed whirlpool water).

Imp- don't think I'll do it again.

Well that's a bummer. I wonder if rolling them in a tea towel would help with that...I might try them this weekend just so I can cross it off my list

I was introduced to something a little similar to the tea towel approach, but it was with thick baggies. You scrabble up the eggs, put them in a baggie and, if you like, add stuff that you might put in an omelette (Omelette in a bag, it was called). Then drop the baggie into boiling water. The texture was probably similar, but I can't say I was knocked out by it. Plus, I really don't like the idea of eating out of boiled plastic. The tea towel seems to be a healthier approach.

Egg drop soup is so good, I was also reminded of Greek avgolemono. Yum. Imp kind of scared me too. But I'm so OCD I still have to try it. LOL!

I've got friends who do that a lot and they love it. I'm with you on the cooking with plastic front though. I don't necessarily think it's bad, it's just that we don't really know enough about it, especially how plastics and fats interact.
