Hopefuly yours lay dark solid, as I know you like those best!

I was just outside doing some chicken chores and I have a slightly off topic question. Do I need to get my guineas out of my chicken pen? Is there a risk of crossbreeding? If you ordered hatching eggs and there was a guinea/chicken mix that hatched would you be angry or appreciate the novelty lol

I wouldnt worry about it, dont happen very often. I run guineas with my chickens for breeding. I would be SO EXCITED if I got a guinea chicken cross. I have kept the guienas with chicksnand peafowl in hopes of that, but never has happened, and never hurt ferility. VERY RARELY will a male guinea breed a chicken.

Are they "disturbed"?

Hi I dont have any wellsummers but I do have a pullet that looks kinda like that. I was told she was an americauna. I really would like to get some wellsummers this spring they sound really neat! Do americaunas look somewhat like that or do I have a puzzle on my hands. Mine is last mays chick, doesnt lay and is small. I tried to post a pic of her a couple weeks ago but couldnt get it to work. Someone said I havent been a member long enough to post pics?????

Katie, I have noticed that a lot of Easter eggers have similar coloring to welsummers. True Ameraucana have a color standard that does not include partridge pattern carried by Welsummers. If you want to email me a picture I will gladly post it for you.
