man those buggers are quick now!!

Chick 1

Chick 2

Chick 3

Chick 4

they all look like roo's ..but lets hear from folks who know better then i would ..i dont see any real shape to the triangle on the top of the head and the eye markings look smudged to me ..these are signs of cockrels ..i am prolly wrong but lets see what others think ..

@oolyboolu Looks like all are cockerels, except maybe #2 because of a more defined eye mark....BUT...different lines are more or less definitive for gender ID by chick markings.

Do you know what lines your chicks are from?

I was hoping not all of them :/ I emailed the lady I got the eggs from (Mucky Boots Farm) and she said "I bought them as hatching eggs from a breeder in Pullayup, WA. I believe the breeders name was Ernst Weisz (sp?). Hope this helps." So aside from her ad for the eggs and the blog, that's as far as my knowledge of them goes.

I'm still learning in this whole chicken adventure so I would like some advice. I have a 5 week old Welsummer who I am hoping is a pullet, but her comb seems to be bigger than my other chickens. Tell me what you think it is...

Thanks in advance!

Pullet. The chest feathers are salmon, not black.

It does look like pullet colouring, so I want to say pullet... however my wellie roo didn't get roo colouring until he was around 6 or 7 weeks old. Before that, he looked like a pullet in almost every way except for his comb

I have two wellies that are coming up on 26 weeks that still aren't laying, while all their sisters are. Even my girls that are a full month younger have started. Is this common for the breed or do I just have lazy hens that don't wanna lay?

mine is 30 weeks and still no eggs. Hitting pol right as winter starts is definitely affecting them.
