A1 - looks like a girl, but the second pic looks like a boy (back pattern is a bit fuzzy, girls would have a very clearly outlined continuous line on the back, boy's patterns often have fuzzy edges and not a continues line from head to tail.)

B - boy

C - looks like a boy

D - not a girl. Looks a bit off for a Welsummer, or maybe it is a 'special' boy LOL

aart was right b&c were the same chick so I posted the third. I think D is a RIR. Sometimes they present with those. Since RIR, Welsummer, Barred Rock and Silkies are the choices. What do you think of the one I posted other pictures of. It is the one I was least sure of. Thanks
And thanks to you too @aart and you too @SeattleSelkie

Since it is spring, and that means folks trying to sex their baby Wellies......I thought these photos might be helpful.

While admittedly these are all chicks from my birds, and different lines will show the eye stripes more or less, I think they at least help give an idea of what to look for. My birds seem to have males with very little eye stripe, and females with very distinct and also less distinct eye stripes. So while it can be hard to guarantee pullets, the males are pretty easy to spot!

And here is one of each from a few different angles.

These are day olds: (L to R) Cockerel, Pullet, Cockerel, Pullet

The same group of day olds: 5 pullets on the left, 3 cockerels on the right. Ignore the cute wheaten Ams!

Same day olds. From the top. 5 pullets in the middle. Two cockerels on the bottom end, one cockerel on the top end.

A group of week old Wellies. 5 pullets, 2 cockerels. The two with lowered heads show the difference of head stripes (male left, female right)

Oh I could use opinions too! I just got my first 3 wellies

love them sooo much! Anyways they are 3 days old and I "think" I know what sex they are BUT I'm a total newbie so I'm not positive. Took pictures of the eyeliner, backs and wings (does wing sexing work with wellies?)
