My kids refer to them as the "Tank Brothers"

Here is #75: He really didn't want his picture taken today:

Here is #76: He was a bit better at letting me get a picture:

He is a beautiful bird although I would like to see a little more brown spangling on his chest. It's my understanding that close to 20% would be ideal.

So he(#76) should have more brown spangling(which you are refering to is the couple brown flecks on his chest). I will go back out and have my DD hold #75 to get a better picture of his chest- be back with a picture in a little while.

Okay went out and took a couple of pictures of #75 and here they are: he also has some damage to his wattle

Both of them are acceptable for breeding but not for showing because of the damages of their combs. I believe 76 would be acceptable for me to use him for breeding.

The shows that either one would go to is 4-H with the kids and #76 is the one who is ear marked for breeding

Actually #75 probably has less damage to his comb- the pictures don't show it well.

Yes if the judge dont put too many points down for damaged wattles.

Yes the #76 is the breeding animal! I prefer him overall with the positives over the #75.

The next generation should have a bit more brown across his chest but neverthanless, you should keep their type, disposition and hopefully not Moose's awful comb passed down.

Both boys look like TANKS!

If we were going to try and show outside of 4-H, we would probably keep the show boys separate. Given the amount of space we have there are 4 boys in the pen and they get along pretty well for the most part. I will have to take a look at the younger boy we have and see what he looks like but he is from the hatch that had the incorrect feathering cockeral so he won't be moving up to the breeder pen- he is just staying until after fair.

very nice,

so that would be a good amount to work towards than? I did look at the cockeral we currently have and he has a bit more brown spangling than the 2 roosters but he won't be used as a breeder. I guess we will see what the next hatch brings when we do set again.

I will need to sit down and re-read the SOP as I didn't even see this information- thanks!
