"Yes, but they seem to be near the bottom," Wren told him. She stretched her arm out through the hole she had made in the ice that had formed on the water. She looked for any signs of movement.
"Yeah, I've noticed that lately." Branch said. He watched her. He punched a hole in the icy water and stuck his arm into it, doing the same thing as Wren. Once he did that, he saw a bit of something moving around. He quickly stretched his arm for it and grabbed the tail of a medium sized fish.

Dawn scurried out of the tree hollow she lived in. She ran onto one of the long, scratchy branches. She looked down at the empty tree hollow. She looked back up to the other trees. "Hmm." She said to herself, wondering what to do.
Dawn's small stomach let out a quiet grumble. She was hungry. She examined the trees in front of her, searching for anything to eat. "Hmm." She said once again.

"Oh, come on," Wren said a bit frustrated that Branch had caught something already. She tried to look as closely as she could. Suddenly, she saw something down lower than she could reach. Without saying anything first, she dove into the icy water.

Branch focused on grabbing his fish and bringing it up to the surface. He dipped his whole head into the water and let go of the fish. He quickly used his teeth and snatched the fish up. The fish flopped around while Branch took his face out of the ice cold water. He crunched the fish and it stopped flopping. Branch dropped it on the ground by the stream and waited for Wren to come back up with her fish she was finding.

Wren went for the fish face first. She grabbed it with her teeth, and then with her paws. It fought her, but she wasn't going to let it win. Her teeth sunk into it, and it finally stop struggling. She swam back up to the surface of the water, looking for the hole she had gone through to get to where she was now. Once she had found it, she went up through it. She pushed herself up and out of the water.

Kiko wandered for quite a ways that day. Soon he ended up in the southern portion of the mountain range.
He sat inside a hollow log to rest for a while. “It’s getting late.” he said. “Maybe I should look for a good place to spend the night.” Right in front of him was a medium-sized cave that appeared unoccupied. He crawled in and curled up, ignoring the strange, familiar odor that didn’t seem important to his waking thoughts, but set off alarm bells in his subconscious. However, he ignored the faint warning and was soon asleep.

Dawn jumped off of her tree branch and chased after a small squirrel. She caught it quickly and killed it even faster. She quickly scurried back to her tree hollow and started to eat it.

Branch watched her, the fish in his mouth. He crunched it up happily.
