She rolled her eyes again. "And I could make you even mo-" She paused when she noticed Kiko. She locked eyes with him. It was really what she thought it was. A male Pine Marten.

He gasped when he saw the female marten and ducked into an alder thicket. From there he watched her admiringly, gazing at her smooth, shining fur.

"You could make me what? A nice bed to lay on until I get better?" Terrence asked while raising his foot. "Look at how swollen it has gotten!" he showed off his perfectly normal, not swollen at all, foot.

Crescent just realized what that glance meant. "Oh, that's nice. I've lived at a place where strange pink creatures jab you with spikes until they realize that they're just giving you health problems." She smiled happily. "But now I'm here. Anyway, sorry to interrupt, and thank you!" She took flight again, enjoying her wings to her full potential this time. She swerved and streaked, heading for the tree that she had nested in previously.

Branch smiled, watching. He turned around and headed back to where they were sitting before.
