Seeing her reaction, Kiko decided to change the subject. "It seems like new residents are popping up everywhere now! Last night a cougar almost gave me a heart attack by waking me up when I fell asleep in what I thought was an unoccupied cave." "Not too far from here either."

"A cougar?!" She exclaimed. "I feel like there are way too many of those here. Too little of us." She looked into his eyes and got lost in them. She couldn't help herself.
